Micro-suction wax removal

Micro-suction ear cleaning is a safer and more effective method of wax removal. 

Earwax is comfortably removed within 30 minutes with a low-pressure suction probe and high-precision instruments.

Micro-suction, is a dry method of wax removal. It uses suction rather than pressure, so it’s gentler. It’s also more precise, with the practitioner able to maintain visibility of the ear canal during the entire procedure.

Micro-suction also offers several benefits compared to irrigation such as:

• The procedure is quicker and more comfortable
• The clinician can clearly see inside your ear during the procedure.
• Micro-suction doesn’t expose your ear canal to moisture.

Unlike irrigation, micro-suction can often be performed on people who have:

• a ruptured eardrum
• active ear discharge
• a history of ear surgery
• foreign matter in their ear
• mild otitis externa (outer ear infection)

It can be helpful to use ear wax softening drops for 2 - 3 nights prior to your appointment. This will soften the wax, which can help clear the ear canal more easily with the micro-suction tubes.
